Background

 Learn. Connect. Refuel.

For SEVEN years, TEND has hosted this event to a “sold out” audience.  Delegates come from across Canada and the United States and return year after year to Learn, Connect and Refuel.

“…thank you to you and your team for another fantastic event. I was just telling a coworker about attendees coming from as far and wide as the Yukon, Calgary and Halifax…I feel really lucky that I took your training and connected with your work and ground-breaking gatherings!”

“There was so much interesting and compelling information shared and presented – I am still going through the material and my notes for more nuggets of wisdom!”

What is Compassion Fatigue?

Compassion Fatigue refers to the profound emotional and physical exhaustion that helping professionals and caregivers can develop over the course of their career. It is a gradual erosion of all the things that keep us connected to others: our empathy, our hope, and of course our compassion – not only for others but also for ourselves.

Who should consider attending CARE4YOU?

Anyone in a position where they are continuously giving of themselves, caring for and helping others and leadership in organizations with high-stress and trauma exposed environments including (but not limited to): health care professionals, mental health workers, teachers, child protection workers, police, paramedics, firefighters, palliative care workers, union leaders, and family caregivers.

How can addressing Compassion Fatigue can help you professionally and personally?

CARE4YOU will:

Teach you how to identify compassion fatigue, how to avoid it, and how to manage it, even if you work in a high stress, high trauma setting.

Connect you with experts, innovators and leading researchers.

Refuel you with new tools, inspiring stories, energizing sessions and laughter.

Professionally: There is now ample research that demonstrates that healthy employees work more efficiently, miss less hours of work and deliver higher quality care. This conference provides helping professionals with the tools they need to address and manage the normal consequence of the work they do and helps to keep them doing their work in a healthy and sustainable way.

Personally: The sessions and speakers at the CARE4YOU conference will inspire and energize delegates to “care for themselves” by focusing attention on personal health – both physical and mental.
